Stateline Amateur Radio Service hosts a local area GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) Repeater which we feel is extremely important for our service area. GMRS is a radio communication band and service that allows the PUBLIC and FAMILIES to simply file for a license with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and usually takes just 1 or 2 days to receive in your email, along with a fee of $35, and is valid for a 10 year period before needing to renew. This is great for radio enthusiasts, families, and crosses platforms with FRS (Family Radio Service). We also offer our repeater to SKYWARN for their nets and severe weather activations for Storm Spotters, the PUBLIC, and for further safety and knowledge. Rock River Valley GMRS club also utilizes our GMRS repeater and we continue to host a weekly Wednesday evening NET for all to be a part of, meet others, etc. We simply want all to have fun, communicate with others, meet others, great conversations, further safety, join Winnebago County SKYWARN if interested, and lastly, have the BEST form of communication for you and your families could have in any severe storms or disaster situations.
